Default T Rex Rant!

I am so frusterated with this thing right now. I guess I should blame myself. I was flying Mikes a couple months ago and just hovering and the plastic parts on the head just exploded. Today I was flying my SE and I did a few loops, rolls, some inverted, and then I came down to land. I decided to go up one more time and flipped it over, and there was the same sound as mikes. It was in a freefall basically, doing the funky chicken on the way down. The plastic arms on the see saw broke and It was inverted, so there was no way to roll it back over and land it. luckilly, the only damage was a couple of controll rods, the plastic arms that broke and the blades.

Who knew you couldn't fly it in 20 degree weather. I have been waiting for the arctic freeze here to blow by so I could fly it. Bummer.

Now they are saying don't fly it in less than 40 degrees. That rules out half the year here. []

Just hadda rant. Now I can order my parts and fix it. Guess I am flying the plank this weekend.

There's that old cliche about retiring to Florida, its supposed to be in the 70's here this weekend, I had to run the AC last weekend.

Why don't they make those arms out of metal anyway? Is it because the ball joint is plastic (weak link), so since it's such a small part they went ahead and made the whole thing out of plastic?

I just had a simular thing happen I was flying my XL and the tail let go on my in near 30* weather it was the pitch slider arm snapped off the housing... Took the SA out and 3 min into the flight the tail goes out on me again (this is my 2nd save in ten minutes) The arm snapped in halve on the yoke slider.... I did manage to Fly 2 flights on the SE with no parts breaking so I have to say bling is good in cold weather.... Metalize it...

This cold weather thing has me wondering how the SE tail will hold up though. As you know, the ball links joints to the tail are unique to the SE from the other varieties of TRex. Mine have broken but not from the cold weather (hopefully that'll stay that way too).

i had 2 sliders break on mine. you have to make sure that the setting is right on the travel through the gyro so its not binding or pulling on it to hard.

I'm glad I ran into this post. I just upgraded to a T-Rex SA from a Blade so I'm still a little green on the new level of control and power. It's reasonably cold here in CT. I've was planning to take it out this weekend but I don't have the talent to have a part break and still bring it to the ground safely. Maybe I'll do a little more basement flying this winter.

If you've been flying the BCP for a while, you should have no problems in flying the TRex. It's a piece of cake compared to the Blade.

I just got my metal arms from the link above that someone gave me and they got here in 2 days. I put them on, spun it up, smoooooth! I test flew it and it rocks. I like it so far. Hope it holds together. It should.
