DX-7 is a good radio, I wish I waited a bit longer... as for now I LOVE my Futaba 7c! I had an Optic 6 (ok for starters, but not a good choice) the 7c or 9c are very good radios all the features and they are Futaba. JR makes some good ones also.

I personally own a FF9 but I have been hearing a little bit of "latency" issues with this particular radio mainly with eccpm choppers. I haven't experienced this myself as the T-rex has been knowen to be too small to notice much latency. I am a little concerned about getting into the larger choppers as apparently it is so very noticable with the eccpm interactions. But for the T-rex and other aircraft, the FF9 is a great radio!!!

either a dx7 or something that has a DSM module for it. worrying about frequencies and signal sucks...so I don't with my DSM2

Gt, the latency isn't something you will notice until you fly the same or similar heli with a DX7 or in my case a 12z then you can tell, its one of those things you dont know your missing until you try it.

http://www.raptortechnique.com has a great review on the DX7 if anyones interested.

Barracuda, say i was to get a JR Air skipper from my T-rex, would there be a posibility that latency would become an issue? I'm seriously looking at the 12z, just havent done enough sucking up/dishwashing ect,ect...................

You might love it even more when you remove the ratchet effect and buy shorter antenna!

ratchets already gone, and i see a short antenna as a waste of money. for that same price, i could buy more blades, a new motor, a BEC, or another battery!

You will not be thinking that way when you fly your new blades and BEC into your long whip antenna.

Personal pref I guess. I just think a shorter antenna is much safer. Safety is the key. I fly my Q500 pylon racers with this radio as well at 150 to 180mph and when we turn left, I don’t have to worry about my antenna hitting the other pilots..

Well, i have heard that there will be spectrum modules made for most of these transmitters. Means i can have the responce of the higher speed transmission rate and have the 9caps programming i love.

yeah, you can tell me however many times how 72mhz sucks, is succeptable to interference, how worrying about frequency issues suck, but i love my 9CAPS. and ill be flying 72 until this thing dies and theres nothing i can do but get a COMPARABLE spectrum radio, or when they have an affordable module for it. my 9CAPS will tear up any DX6 or DX7 out there. never gotten a glitch, and weve only had ONE frequency conflict at the field in 2 years, so i figure my odds are sweet. plus, if jet jockeys use 72mhz, its GOT to be ok.

PCM? yes i know! PCM "masks" the glitch, ive been told hundreds of times! i dont care! id be glad if it masked a glitch and had slow response for a while rather than going completely haywire.
