Well I've been building my first T-Rex this weekend and came across a snag today. Yesterday I hooked up the ESC/RX and tested my servo's, everything was working. I even spun up the motor just to make sure it worked. Today I come in to center my servo's and when I plut in the battery to the ESC I get nothing. No beeps, nothing. I do get an orange solid status light on my RX, but nothing works, no servos motor, etc. What could be wrong? I don't really think anything changed between today and yesterday. What does it mean when the ESC doesn't give out beep codes? My batteries seem ok, the charger gives it green lights.
It is sorta frustrating because I don't know if it's my RX or ESC.

What motor and ESC are you using? If you're using the Align setup, you will not hear any beeps if the motor has been disconnected. The ESC doesn't have a speaker of its own - it actually resonates the motor to create sound.
I'm not sure about your transmitter/receiver problem... could be any number of things. What are you using?

ESC is standard Align issue with the SE (BL35G and 430L) and the motor is connected. I got beeps yesterday. I am using an AR6000 / DX6. I have an old JR 652 I hooked up, it will at least power the servos connected to the ESC, but I still get no beeps and no motor spinup.

Yes, I've rebound. It seems to work, but the LED color's aren't matching (they weren't matching yesterday either though that I can remember). When I say it works I mean the bind seemed to work according to blinks, the thing still doesn't beep from the ESC or move the servos. It said it's supposed to start off blinking blue, then go solid green after the bind. It blinks orange, then goes solid orange when the bind button goes solid green.

silly question...did you remove the bind plug from the receiver after the bind? I had trouble like that with my DX7 until i realized I had to pull the bind plug or the receiver would lose its bind. I turned the radio off and had to start over a couple times....

My only expeience is with the DX7. I use the 6100 receiver. It just flashed until I bound it to the radio, now it maintains a solid orange. I have not even tried the 7100 that came with th radio, yet.
Is there a reason your receiver may not be working? Maybe, you have one of the power plugs turne backwards? I would go back to ground zero, plug in each servo one at a time and see when things stop working. Then add peripherals...gyro, ESC....etc.
Something has got to be causing the issue...so eliminate step by step....

Well I have been trying to eliminate the problem. I get a good flashing amber light which goes solid orange after bind, so I am assuming the RX/TX is working. I will test it in another model today. There is another guy having a similar problem on RR, do you think I may have fried my ESC using it to mess with the servos? I was under the impression that was an OK thing to do.

out of curiosity, wouldn't that be covered under Align's warranty? If it is a new ESC, that is.
Thnaks for the info though. I have used my ESC several times just to set servo throws..etc. Never had a problem....yet (gulp).
But I have the 6v 35a Align X model...might be immune...I hope.

Well I think whatever happend to the ESC also fried the RX. It seems the only channel that really works on the RX is my Throttle, none of the other channels will power a servo. I will probably end up picking up the Phoenix 35 and a new AR6000 and get the Align one replaced and send the fautly AR6000 off to Spectrum for repair. I can e-bay those to recover some of my costs once they are fixed.
It's still a little wierd, I'm unsure which part is faulty, although I'm nearly 100% sure the AR6000 is dead - or at least mostly dead. I also think the ESC won't give signals unless it sees the RX correctly, but maybe not.

Well I took the bird up to the LHS, and they tested the RX by itself with a stand alone battery (no ESC) and sure enough, it seems channels 2-6 are dead. Supplying power to any channel but BAT and THR gives no power to the RX. You can put the battery in BAT and stick a servo on THR and it works, channel 2-6 = nothing.
I'm too scared to plug the new AR6000 I bought into the old ESC for fear it may fry yet another RX. The guy at the hobby store didn't seem too interested in it either. He did try putting the throttle trim all the way down, other than that I'm not sure what else to try on the DX6 to try and arm the ESC (considering one day it worked, the next nothing).
