How to get my battery ready for spring flight
I charged my battery up a couple months ago and stored it. When I am ready to use it again what do I need to do?
I friend told me that I need to put it on the charger and discharge it first, followed by a full charge. Can't I just charge it again?

I've never discharged one before and my charger can't. I've stored mine for many months and simply pop it back on the charger again just prior to flying....the night before or the day of.

If it's a lipo, store it at 2/3rds full if you don't use it for weeks and then top it off before the flight.

Luckily, my TRiton Jr. charger has a LiPo discharge feature that will SLOWLY discharge (Max. 1 Amp) your LiPo to 3V per cell. After that, I charge it right back up to full capacity and fly. It seems to keep my packs in good working order.

Hi Robert,
You should know that it is beyond your technical capacity to prepare your battery. I on the other hand do have the charging equipment required to diagnose and charge your battery.
Send me all of your batteries and model aircraft, and I will charge the batteries and test fly them for a few weeks.
Any damage I will report to you for your repair efforts later.
OK, that silliness out of the way, I pretty much just top off the LiPos and go fly.
