Default Bad reciver?

I have a Trex 450 SA with stock motor and esc, reciever is jr 770 (PCM), 6102 transmitter (JR), with Futaba gyro 401. For 2 days the heli was at the garage, last night i flew it just fine in the garage using HH mode, I landed it and switched to rate or non-heading mode. But as soon as i flipped the switch, with no throttle, the heli will power up!![:@]. Ichecked the radio and everything seems to be in order. Could it be the radio switch or the receiver??
Any suggestions? Need help on this one...

Did you power it up with the throttle stick all the way down? What does it do if you switch back to hh mode?

Sounds like it is going into idleup instead of HH. Check your switch mapping on the TX. You may have some sort of unwanted mixing going on.

That sounds right. I bet checking the switch you will find you have Throd Hold and not HH.

Yep, you have your HH vs. Rate mode set for your Flight mode switch.

Out of curiosity, why were to switching to rate mode? Once things work good in HH mode, there really is no need to switch back and forth. But if you still want to, and still want to keep your HH/Rate set for your flight mode, you could simply dial down the gain to below 50% in normal mode and fly that way.
