Default Biggest battery you can use in a trex 450 se v2??

Hi I was looking for the largest battery pack that can be used for the trex 450. I'm currently looking at the outrage 2200mAh 25C 3s lipo pack but I want to know if I could fir the 2500 and how much flying time would the difference provide? And also: does the C rating have an effect on the flight time?

i think the 2500mah packs will work on the trex. but is it worth the extra weight? you might lose some characteristic of the trex by going over the recommended battery weight. if you're hovering and learning that will be fine. but if you're zippy around that extra weight dont make a good flying heli.

also i found the 2200mah 3 cell packs works best. good flight times and i can go idle up 100% flat curve for 6 minutes on the JGF 450F motor. in normal i can get 8-9 minutes.

I'm just learning to fly but I don't like short flights so I wanted to find out how much extra time will a 2500 bat give me. Thanks!

it should add at least a minute maybe minute and a half. which motor and pinion are you using. if you're just hovering than you can lower the headspeed just a little and get a better flight time. going down one pinion size can do that.

Rzarikian ~

Noobflyer is right about the weight... One of my Thunder power packs has a much more light and fluffy feeling (Lol) when I'am flying compared to one of my Air-Thunder batts which is approximately 50 or so grams heavier. Much better response from it... Each has its purpose. The Air-Thunder's provide me with a little more weight for windier conditions while the TP packs are just excellent for zipping around. The Pro-Lites from TP are even better !

Just my 2 cents...

I'm going to go with the 2200mAh. I´ll just lower my headspeed to get longer runs. Thanks for the help

I have Kong 2500 packs and get 7:30 from them. 430xl 11t pinion. Hovering you will get 8-8:30.

Just buy more batteries.
I use the $20 ABF 2200 20C's and an el-cheapo ESky charger and balancer.
They work fine for sport flying.
Have about 40 cycles on 5 different packs and none have started to fade yet.

I use Flight Power EVOLITE 2500's and my TREX has plenty of zip. It flips, rolls, etc. Maybe not a 3D rocket but certainly 3D capable, and I get 6 minute flight times ending with 11.5 volts (or better).

I use the Air-Thunder 2200, I do notice the weight difference between them and my 2100. tends to make my bird a little nose heavy
I get maybe a extra min out of them, i will get more 2100s just because I like the balance of them in the bird,
