Default OUTRAGE 11.1V 4200mAH battery for 450

Would this battery fit into a 450? It would be awesome to have 20 min worth of flying time instead o 8 or 7. what do you guys think. And also how much flight time should you get from an outrage 4s 2200 compared to a 3s 2200?

Thanks!

i dont think flying for 20 minutes on a single charge is a good idea or if possible. things will get hot. as far as going with the 4-cell setup for longer flight times....its defintely a good way to get longer flight times. make sure you have a motor and esc that's capable of doing 4S. adding a bec will also prove benefitcal. you will have to lower your pinion. and lastly but just as important is the bird capable of the extra weight added? adding weights will charge characteristic of the bird.

most trex owners just use the 3S setup as that what the 450 is designed for. just get more 3S lipos.

I don't believe that a 4200 mah would fit.. even if you got it to fit you'd have too much weight and would probably stress the motor and esc... it would also be nose heavy as hell.

As to a 4s, more voltage will not increase flight times, they increase power, mah increases flight times. noob is right though, make sure you have a 4s capable esc and motor, you'd pretty much need a 45amp 4S capable esc and a more powerful, lower kv motor.

In a battery system think of voltage as the pump and the mah as the reservoir, the pump can push the water (current) more powerfully but does not affect how much is in the reservor (mah).

I don't know how well it holds over to helis because of the possibility of changing pinion gear to keep the head speed the same but I know for a fact that a higher voltage pack used in an airplane with the same capaity, ie... 2100mah for example, will result in a shorter flight time. Higher voltage also means your motor will run at a higher amperage.

stick with 2200mah 3S lipos. the trex450sev2 flys extremely well with this lipo size.

Instead of trying to increase flight time get more 2100 to 2200 mah batteries and increase your number of flights.
I have 8 batteries and a good charger. I can fly as often as I want (this includes at least 15 minute breaks between flights for complete cooling of all the electronics)

I have 2 chargers a Bantam Estation BC5 and an Align RCC-4CX.
I did have a nice Astro Flight charger but I included it with my T-Rex 600 when I sold it.

The biggest you can use is probably 2500mah but that's really pushing it and would only be good for sport flying. The 2200mah 25C are IMO the best for both performance and value.
