I am going to buy my first heli and I need some help from you.. The heli will be the new 450SE V2, and I would like to know your opinions on what electronics should I get.. I do have experience with RC trucks, so I think I will understand what you are going to recommend, plus I have been reading a lot lately.. I would like to get something around the best I can have, it does not matter if it is too much to begin with, I prefer to have extra of everything, always thinking in future... Finally for the tx, I am looking at the futaba 10c 2.4 ghz, seems a very good radio with a great price.. Opinions..?? Hope you can help me out..

Here is what I have in 2 of them
It has 3 SH65B carbonite gears for Cyclic the other one for stunts has the metal gear ones
The Tail has a GY401 Gyro and a JR3400G servo
it has the Spectrum R6200 receiver.
TX is a DX7
for battery I use the Thunder power 3S1P 2200 25c extream
No problem what so ever the stunt 450 has 200 flights so far and my scale 450 has 84 flights so far.

What about the futaba 9650 for the tail?? I think it has no metal gears, I would like something similar but wiyh metal gears.. I prefer futaba, I like the brand very much.. And for the cyclic?? I am not sure, there are so much to choose from that I am kind of confused.. I think I will go with the 401 for gyro, since a lot of people use it, must be good... What about the radio that I want to by?? The 10c 2.4 ghz...?? Also recommend me on line stores that I can trust and have good prices. Sorry for all the questions.. I am trying to learn quick.. Thanks

The Futaba GY-401/S9650 combo is perfect for a T-Rex. Metal gears are commonly recommended for the cyclic servos, but I really don't think they're necessary for the tail. Just my $.02.

I agree! The tail servo rarely strips.

The "standard" with TREX 450 V2's are Hitech HS-65MG for cyclic, Futaba GY401/9650for the tail and a Specktrum 6100 Rx unit. The Futaba 10C is nice, but iverkill IMHO for a Heli. Get a DX7 instead.

Bry nailed it! The setup he mentioned is what's on my CopterX 450 / Trex clone and as mentioned above fly it with a DX7 and Spektrum 6100 rx.

I just picked up a 450SE V2 with a GY401 and a JR DS3781 servo on the tail but I don't know anyone that carries it in the states. It is similar to the new JR DS3500G that is sold in the states but the 3781 may be alittle faster. The tail holds much better than the 401/9650 combo on my 450SA. The 9650 is reliable and works pretty well though. If you want the best servos go for the new Hitec HS-5065MGs. They should be better thant the "standard" HS65s. I fly with the HB gear sets and haven't broken any yet and they are lighter. Good luck.
