Default 450 Trex V - tail bouncing up and down...

Can anyone help me?

I have a 450 TREX and the tail keeps bouncing up and down. I have replaced the blades (weighed and balanced), checked the tail rotors, main rotor shaft is straight, belt is appropriate on the tension (I have tried to adjust the tension as well); also, the fly weights are equal in length and weight. This is the first time I have this issue.

Has anyone encountered this and what could be the issue?

Thanks for any help!

Is your rotor speed high enough? I do get that when my battery is getting weak and rotor speed decreases.

That is possible; although I notice this at the beginning to end of a charge on the battery. I have two Kong Power packs and the tail wag happens on both (although both packs are a year old).

Did your heli bob at the beginning of a fresh charge?

It's possible that the blades are too tight in the grips. That is very common when using the pro woods with some aluminum grips. If they seem tight, try pulling the blades straight (one blade tip in each hand) before spooling up, and see if that helps.

The first time it happened, it thought something was wrong with the heli. I inspected, checked, got frustrated, and then tried another battery. Immediately, up/down wag was gone. Same thing happened at the end of the battery. Try changing your throttle curve on your transmitter to give it 10% more at mid range. See if that changes.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I sanded down the blades and allowed them to rotate more easily - seems to have fixed the issue!

I am also going to increase my throttle curve (really just need a little more umph).

Thanks guys!!!
