Metal is stronger

Metal gears will wear quicker. On a electric there isn't the amount of vibration that a engine produces, but there still are some vibes from the rest of the heli.

the metal ones are rediculously expensive and are not necissary. The hs 65hb servos are flawless for the t-rex and are a ferfect match at 25/each.

So the metal ones will wear out, karbonites will strip out.... Lose-lose situation. Something's not right here.

The general consensus is to use metal.
The don't break in crashes.
If you want, you can get HS 65 hb, then upgrade to metal gears if you wish (drop in replacement).
Gear sets run obout 18.00. ( for metal)
I use 56's for now. (your stuck with carbonite)
Your call.

From the prices I can see online, it's only $10 more to get the metal gear version. Saves more in the long run in my opinion.

Yes for the extra $30 get the metal gears. I cant imagine that metal "wears down" faster than a carbon fiber composite, I would have to see some data on that one. Matter of fact there is an ad in the latest AMA magazine that shows the difference in the gears... the carbon is rated at like 4 x stronger than stock, the MG is rated at like 16 times stronger and the new titanium is rated at 40x stonger than stock.

For the $10 each get the MG.
