n00b needs help
I want to get into helis and I was planning on getting somthing like a blade cp Pro. But I met a guy that has a bunch of helis at my LHS and he said not to mess with the micro helis cuz they are way to hard to fly. He said just get a trex. I was wondering what your guy's opinion on this matter was. I am a complete heli noob, should I get somting like a CX2 and then get a trex or just get the trex?

RE: n00b needs help
First, get a simulator! Master the helicopter (use the .30 size trainer) and THEN got for the T-Rex. You won't be sorry!

RE: n00b needs help
as he said ...
getting a CX2 first can be done to have something real in the air for practice but you can go straight to Trex from SIM |

It's awesome to fly! Very stable, and easy to fly right out of the box. THEN go for the TRex! :) Just my humble opinion. :) |
RE: n00b needs help
My route was the Blade CX, then some flight sim and the Honey Bee FP (fixed pitch). The little FP helis are hard to fly but very durable, especially the main blades which just pop off when you wack the furniture.
After the FP I felt ready for the Trex but I made myself some large training gear first out of dowels and plastic golf balls. A much cheaper route would be to do the sim and then the Trex as has been mentioned, but don't forget the training gear. Preventing those little tip-overs at first will keep you flying instead of repairing. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress. |
