RE: 450 sa
nope nothing that really needs replacing to get decent performance.
what servos/gyro/tail servo did you choose for your sa? what tx/rx are you using? are you using the stock motor and esc? |
RE: 450 sa
You can always buy upgrades or bling down the road to enhance the already outstanding performance of this bird. I only upgrade stuff after crashing because the price differences was not that much to me..And it does make a difference but, its not like a Blade CPP that needed upgrades just to make the heli fun/non frustrating

RE: 450 sa
I second the questions on which transmitter, which servos, gyro, motor, esc and battery.
I will also add another question; What is your flying experience? On what you need to do, I would say that you need to watch the Finless videos. Do a google search. Vince |
RE: 450 sa
One thing to watch out for is the tail drive pulley stipping off the shaft and your heli doing out of control piros. This is the white small pulley that the tail belt loops around on the fuselage end of the boom. I would recommend replacing this ASAP with a shaft with a metal pulley (before it fails, because it will). I used the one for the SE with the pulley already attached (can't recall part number) and it seems to be holding up.

RE: 450 sa
as i said i just got the heli am flying a honeybee king2 right now have about 50 hrs sim time and can do a very wobbly hover and nice easy circles and flights.crashed the bee a few times but still have all my fingers, arms legs and so on.as for the trex i have the sa arf kit with the 430l b/l motor and 35amp esc. just ordered a dx7 (transmitter only) and servos and gyro are still being decided on.on a different note is this thing pronounced trex like the bicycle or t-rex like the dinosaur?glad i'm use to spending money on rc cause i race off road rc,they dont fall out of the sky when they break lol

RE: 450 sa
I am in the process of putting a 450S CF together and was told on another forum to replace the tail shaft to that with a metal gear as well as the tail drive gear assembly.

RE: 450 sa
Only thing I know you should look for is the 'flybarcage'. Mine had about 2mm side to side play. I know som just squeeze it toghether while tightening the grub screws, but I opted for putting in some washers on both sides to get rid of the side to side play. Or you could just get the metal version.
