CF Blades required for basic 3D ?
Hey!
I've been flying my TREX450SEv2 for a little while now with some basic 325mm Align wood blades. I can now hover in any orientation and do some basic FF. I can do rolls, flips and inverted hovering with no problem on the simulator and now the day is near when I will have the guts to try those basic 3D maneuvers on the real thing and I was wondering if it is safe to do so with wood blades of if I need to put some CF blades on before doing a flip or a roll? Thanks for your advices! |

I know for a fact you can do mild 3d with woodies.

You can use woodies, but man, once you use CF blades you won't want to go back!

i do it all day with the 325 pro woodies, been using CF blades now that im not wrecking as much and my flips are getting much tighter.
woodies work fine but youll need some room cause there not near as responsive as CF blades |

What are some good CF blades (high RPM rating) that I can get at a reasonable price? I have heard of the Curtis Youngblood cosmetically-flawed blades for $27... Does anyone know of another good source? I bought a nice set of Align CF blades (Real CF) the other day at LHS that cost $36! I think that I would like to order a few sets online and save some dough.

Hey Bry,
I fly the CY cosmetically flawed Radix blades (they are $29), and LOVE them. I won't get anything else at this point. I did like the white Align ones as well, but as you say they are $36 vice the $29 I pay for the awesome Radix blades. Skarn |

Where do you score cosmetically flawed Radix blades?
|
RE: CF Blades required for basic 3D ?
at there site they have a special area for the flawed blades.
i think the 24 dollar helidirect http://www.helidirect.com/product_in...roducts_id=576 blades are far supior to the CY blades, rite now there second choice among hotdogs for perfomance im using the DX 12 dollar CF blades and even they are better then woodies but not by much lol |

The SAB blades are the best I've ever used, but at 50 bucks a pop, you will see a grown man cry after a crash... :-)

RE: CF Blades required for basic 3D ?
Just stop crashing!:D
Helicopters are the easy to fly... in zero gravity! |

ORIGINAL: MiniCwik ORIGINAL: BryFlyGuy67 I did not know about the quality of those Helidirect blades, srouthouse. Thanks! I think I shall order a few sets! :D I've never had a set of blades that were perfectly balanced from the factory including all 3 sets of Radix so far. Yes, the Radix were VERY close, but I still needed a small amount of tape. But it prob would be fine without it ) Skarn |

Bry I'm have some esky 315 for my belt cp cf and they work great and have esky cf on my hbk2,my blade 400 still has woodies and the trex 600 has cf too, cf blades are much better but I let a pro 3d pilot fly the b400 with the woodies and he was killin it loops rolls inverted tic tocs piro flips you name it he did it with the woodies, so it is up to the pilot just my .02.
