Trex 450SA flybar setup question

HI, I carshed my 450 SA since it was an ARF the manual does not tell you much about replacing parts and what needs locktite.

I am having trouble figuring out how to set the paddles on the fly bar flat ?

Any tips or suggestions would be very helpful.

Thank you,

Mark

RE: Trex 450SA flybar setup question

If you have the old flybar out and the new one in, make sure you have the same amount of flybar extending on each side of the flybar cage. I use digital calipers to measure all critical demensions. Don't have an exact measurment, you just kinda center it and carefully slide it to one side or the other untill it measures the same on both sides. Then put the flybar weights on and get them all the way out on the rod just before where the threads start. You can measure again to make sure the weights are the same distance out. Make sure all the set screws have locktite and are tight. Then just screw the paddles back on untill they are just touching the weights and they are level with the flybar cage. Eye balling is good enough and is how everyone does it. If you don't already know about Finless Bob and his build videos on the HeliFreak website, do yourself a favor and go check them out. There are complete build vids on the T-Rex SE which is exactly the same as the SA except the SE uses more carbon fiber and CNC parts.

you can also download the SE or SE V2 manuals in PDF to help you with re-assembly. when i had my SA, i found them to be very helpful.

I should write things down when I set up my bird, it's going to be like 70/71.2mm on each side if I remember correctly
