Vibrations in camera view

Hi everyone,

I have recently purchased a FlyCamOne3, it is a fantastic little camera but when I mount it on my Trex 500 I get vibrations and I have made sure there are no head issues of any kind. I mounted it on a mates 500 and I got the same vibrations only worse. When it is mounted on my 450 it is smoothe.
Things I have tried: mounting under the frame
Mounting on the canopy,
Mounting on the tail stabilizer.
high density foam under the camera.

see results here

and on the 450 here

Any ideas kindly appreciated

Michael

Hey Michael.   Cool videos!  I dont have the flycamone3 so I really cant help you with the mounting .   I bought one of these:  http://cgi.ebay.com/Spy-Key-Chain-Ca...item19b8761d48

its super small and lightweight for only $13 usd shipped.  real good quality too.

the video is really good on the 450 but the 500 is a bit shaky.  have you tried mounting it on the belly of the 500?

I'd check with those guys over at HF in the aerial photography sections.  They troubleshoot things like these.

good luck Michael.   If all else fails you can try that key chain spy camera and that works beautifully!

here it is on my 500 esp.

Hi guys

Nice vid noob, I have one of those cameras but wanted something a little more high tech so I can eventually fly fpv.

looks like I am getting closer, tried some high density foam under the camera and inverted it. Check the results

I am usingExtreme III 4 gig in the fly cam but I have a standard in my keychain camera like noobs. The speed isn't really needed in these devices.

they both work a charm!

RE: Vibrations in camera view

I was reading something over on HF about this, and one member suggested mounting directly under the mainshaft. Seen the video he did and it seemed to work for him.
I have the keychain camera as well and have yet to try it, but I have three different places I'm going to try as soon as I get my butt out to fly. I have a mount on top of the canopy, between the skids under the battery tray and directly under the mainshaft. So we will see what works best. I think out on the tailboom is just amplifying any vibration there is no matter how small.
