I am building a G&P 104" PBY-5A, 23-25lbs...It was suggested to use two of these on it...The biggest prop would be in the 12" range...Would the concensus be that these would provide plenty of power to fly it off water as well at "scale speeds". Would using 3-bladed props be an advantage over the standard 2-blades. Keep in mind that I would be flying this aircraft at 5800ft here in the Denver area...MTIA...Kevin in Denver

Kevin,
This question does not belong in the "Tachometer Readings" forum... Neither does it apply to this specific thread.
It belongs in general discussion, since you are neither asking about the RPM this engine is capable of, nor are you reporting the same...
It belongs not in the engines forum, but in an open flying discussion forum.
I will report it, since you are very new here.
Welcome aboard!

Your engine will run better on 20% nitro, or more.
The altitude you fly at is irrelevant (the RPM does not change significantly at greatly differing altitudes) and the actual value of the head temperature is equally unimportant... If the engine runs well; its head temperature is 'correct'...
Yes, 'correct' is the right numerical value for an engine's head temperature and it does not have to be quoted, or measured (if you were suckered into buying that piece of junk (IRT)).
If the head is too cold, or too hot; the engine will be a bad dog...

Hello,
I have 2 63S and use them with Master 13x6 and Graupner sonic 13x6, I get a peak of 11.200 that I lower to 10.900 for flying. I use homemade fuel with 22% KL198 and 25% nitro.
Also in a 53fz with same prop and same fuel I get 10.050 peak and 9700 for flying.
Awesome engines i think.
