6400 RPM with a Zinger 22 x 10 and 1 gallon of fuel through it. Excellent starting hot or cold. Hovers a 16.5 pound Midwest Extra at half throttle.

I have the same prop and mine does 7200 right out of the box. It sounds like you are way rich. It should rip that prop. I get your RPM out of a Menz 24x8 and it is a TON bigger than the Zinger. I hover at just over half on a 18lb. Edge and have great pullout.

DA-50 with stock muffler, right out of the box, turned my Mejzlik 22 x 10 at 7300. Only 3/4 gallon through it right now. Will be interesting to see how many R's it picks up when broke in. Temp was about 85 degrees, and I'm at 450' above sea level.

I'm also getting 6,400 on 22X10 Zingers after 1-1/2 gallons of 32:1 Lawnboy. 950 ft elevation.
I'm a little disappointed.
Both engines are running clean, and I hate to push the limits on lean since they're on a P-38 and engine-out can be a real disasster.

Not lean on vertical runs at all. Can be TR'ing for a minute or so, go to full throttle till I can't see it anymore and it never sags.

I've only checked the idle once or twice, and it was around 2,000 rpm I believe. It's kind of touchy, I hit a spot where one beap on the trim lever really changes the idle speed. I've gone into the TX and reduced the movement on the trim lever which helped some, but I'm always just a bit too high, or two low to where it sounds like it wants to die. This is only on landing. Seems like while flying, the air keeps the prop free wheeling enough to where it won't die. I'm running a Mejzlik 22 x 10 and have 6 gal. through it.
