Default Saito 1.00 RPM

I have one that I am trying to get up and running for a Vectorflight Extra 300. This is my first 4-stroke. So far I have about 1/2 gallon of wildcat 15% through it, and followed the breakin procedures from Saito. I have not set up the idle yet. With a Zinger 14/6 I am getting about 9400 rpm.

Does this sound about right for one of these with only 1/2 gallon through it?

Thanks

Doug

I'm more of a APC man but my 100 turns a 15-8 APC at 9,000. My old style OS 91 Surpass I will turn a 14-6 APC at 9400.

Enjoy,

Jim

Well I have a new saito 91s with a 14-6 k series and its hitting 9350 and it hasnt seen the air yet, still fat on the top end and maybe a 1/3 of a gal. thru it. The 100 should easily best.

The 14x6 is simply too small for the 100. In addition to the props suggested by Jim and Outsider a 14x8 or 14x10 would work well.

On 15% nitro my friend gets 9800 rpm turning a 15x4W APC prop on his Saito 1.00 after a half gallon of fuel. My Saito .91 turns a 14x4W APC over 10,000 rpm's on 30% Heli mix (too many rpm's but a 15X4W is tight on a Funtana 40S with stock wheels and gear).
