Valach VM-210 B2-4T Mk.2

Valach VM-210 equipped with 2-into-1 Y-header and single canister from Toni Clark in Germany.
Fuel: 25:1 run-in mix.
Elevation: 250 ft.
Temperature: 5-10 degrees C.
Less than 10 liters through the engine at this point.

Fiala 34x16x2: 4.800 on the ground.
Rather noisy in the air due to prop ripping. Good thrust and decent speed.

Menz 32x18x2: 4.600 on the ground, about 200 more than my Moki 250.
Very quiet in the air, only the engine is heard even when going full throttle. Slightly lower climb performance but about 5-10 km/h higher top speed.

Nice numbers, can you post some video some time?

Pelle Gris 06-14-2017 07:36 PM

Sure.
These two clips are from a recent GPS Triangle race where I was one of the towpilots. I´m flying the white/red/black towplane.

The videos are a bit long/slow, but with a bit a fast forwarding you should be able to find the "good" parts.

The propeller I´m using in these clips is a SEP 32x14x2, a very wide blade wood propeller. This is a good compromise between the two other propellers listed above - ok thrust/speed and not too noisy in the air.
The Valach spins this propeller about 4.800 rpm, 100-200 slower than the 3W 210TS that was powering the towplane before.
