How much rpm gain can a person expect to see on a .61 size ringed engine after break in? About how much running does it take to see a gain?

I Have an old Webra .61 ringed engine that I purchased used at a Club Auction. I approached it like a brand new engine and broke it in as prescribed by Clarance Lee.

Use a low pitched prop and set the carb so rich that it will barely run at full throttle use a low nitro high oil fuel, like 10% Nitro-20%oil, run it for 3 min then let it cool, Repeat.

Start to Lean the engine a little at a time and only run it for 3-5 minutes at a time, let cool between runs. It will take about a gallon of fuel to completely break it in but it is worth it in the long run.

The Egine will perform at its best when properly broken in. You will enjoy the engine and it will last longer when it is properly broken in. The piston ring and cylinder need to wear in during the break in period so that the engine will produce good compression and smooth out the cylinder wall and ring, this process takes time but is vital to a ringed engine.

If the engine is not a ringed engine then the process is similar but not as time consuming. I pretty much run the engine rich while I fly it for its first couple of flights then I start to lean it out and by the sixth flight it is pretty much broken in.
