RCU Forums - Tamiya 1/16 Clodbuster Quick Race

hey i picked up this beautiful little truck on a local classifieds site and let me tell ya its a fun little rig
the clodbuster quick race edition is from 1991 and the transmitter is labeled 1988
it was the first RC vehicle that was considered TOY GRADE but had HOBBY GRADE parts
it runs on a small 280 motor with lots of blast
it has a 2 speed switchable transmission and the gear change is very noticeable
a beautiful clodbuster body, which im sure is almost worth as much as the truck itself
it takes 8x AA batteries, with 2500mahrecharge ablesit lasts around 20 minutes
ive seen mods where you attach 9.6v and tamiya plugs and you get 25% more speed and 45 minute runtimes with 2000mah
the suspension system reminds me of the cc01 with the lower arms, however the shocks are toy grade and attached with pin/groove at the top
