OK, radio is easy, no need to look any further than this... http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gt3b-carradio-lcd.html
Servo...how much are you prepared to spend? Bear in mind, the choices range from $50 to $60 to $80 to $100. The ideal servo in my opinion, is in the 70-80 range, with 200oz-in of torque or more, but the $50 option is perfectly adequate... http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...tal-Gear-Servo
If you are interested in more expensive recommendations, just shout.
PS. You may be able to find a cheap 200oz-in servo at the same place as that radio, but remember, especially with servos, you get only what you pay for. I am a huge advocate of spending high on the parts that allow me to keep control of my many hundreds of dollars investments.

alright looks like it has stock servos on it, team associated s1903's on throttle and shift, and a s2008 on steering, (only 111oz/in) Ihave a nice bluebird digital servo, thats 197 oz/inch on 6 volt. that should be enough as I'm planning on driving the servos with 2 cell a123 packs
then Ineed to center all the servos, set the linkages properly then set the motor to stock settings, then Ican start it and see how it runs.

The s2008 as a steering servo is garbage, but as a throttle/brake servo it's fast enough to get the job done

thats my only issue left. that and buying a new lexan body for it
I've got it setup on my aurora 9 till I get a new radio, have the reverse switch, and the brakes setup so it should work just fine

I would go ahead and get what you will eventually end up with any ways, and don't look back!

Voxmagna when you quote someone to get your point accross. It's as if your calling them out. Sorry you struck a nerve, so let me post the specs!
I agree it's a higher price to pay. $70 - $99
.001 seconds of response time compaired to .15 sec. @ 333 oz of tourqe (and the capability of .12 sec. @ 403 oz of tourqe
I have tried to run both of my MGT's & Mugens on 111, 124, 133 179 tourqe rated servos and your asking to much from that little tourqe. All failed I believe it's because your pushing the servo to hard. The speed is great but unless the vehicle is moving they just wont turn full lock to lock. They are pushed to hard.
Take a look at the specs for both and I hope you still don't say buy the cheaper one.
Futaba s9452 Digital Hi-Speed.Hi-Torque Servo $70USD
SPECS: Speed: .13 sec/60° @ 4.8V
.11 sec/60° @ 6V
Torque: 102 oz-in (7.4 kg/cm) @ 4.8V
128 oz-in (9.2 kg/cm) @ 6V
Weight: 1.8oz (50g)
Dimensions: 1.6 x 0.8 x 1.4" (40 x 20 x 34mm)
HITEC HS-7954SH High-Voltage Ultra Torque Digital Servo
SPECS: Size: 1.57 x 0.78 x 1.45" (40 x 20 x 37mm)
Weight: 2.30oz (65.2g)
6.0V 7.4V
Speed: 0.15 sec 0.12 sec

RE: just purchased a old monster gt 21, used for 100$
True i like to have my fun , the specs are similar. The HITEC HS-7954SH is a good server without a doubt if you can afford it go for it also the torque is amazing. There is absolutely no reason for me to be doing stand-still-turning unless i plan on doing crawling*.
reasons for purchasing:
Weight+ every little less counts
speed+ is that a question?
Torque— enough to get it done
The 6v 1100mah battery would die within minutes if i was just turning the wheels all the time and not actual driving the thing, under normal circumstances i can get 2hrs off one charge.

RE: just purchased a old monster gt 21, used for 100$
Voxmagna, cool great response very laid back.
I bought a Hitec HT 7955 in March 2008. Later that year I bought another, and both are still running strong. At $119 each at that time was high, but they are going into there fourth year of use and I can't be happier! If you take a look at how the the servo has evolved over the last four years only one company Hitec offered monster tourqe decent speed servos and everyone else is still playing catch up. Fatuba has I beleive better quality but only by a fraction! JR has stuck with the Buggy & Truggy line of servo decent tourqe options with top notch speed. But both are more expensive over all than Hitec. There are other brands out there like Savex, Ko Propo, Spectrum but none other than KoPropo offer monster tourqe and fast speed at all most twice the price.
Both the Futaba s9452 Digital Hi-Speed.Hi-Torque Servo & HITEC HS-7954SH High-Voltage Ultra Torque Digital Servo, will provide what you need but if you buy a servo that is not entended for a heavy monster truck I still beleive you will likely over abuse it!
Hitec 7954, & 7955 are what I beleive to be the cutting edge is servos for the monster trucks!
If I needed new steering servos I would go all out for tourqe: I run a 7.2v stick and get 4hr of fun only refueling slows me down. I'm not too worried about weight with a monster truck (bash-only)
The HS-7950TG has been designed for the most demanding hobby applications including the largest aircraft and monster trucks. Featuring a titanic 403oz./in. of torque at 6.0 volts, while still maintaining a respectable 0.15 second transit time @ 7.4V (486/.13)!
$149
Torque: 347/403/486 oz./in. (4.8v/6v/7.4V)
Speed: 0.19/0.15/0.13 sec @ 60 deg. (4.8v/6v/7.4V)
Weight: 2.34oz (66 g)
Bushing Or Bearing: Bearing
Bearing: Dual
Motor Type: Corless
Gear Type: Metal
Gear Material: Titanium Gear Train (Metal Karbonite first gear)
If it's speed you want: Just remember .10 - .14 is almost optimal for steering response if it's too fast it will be difficult to control!
Hitec 7940TH
Torque: 150/182/222 oz./in. (4.8v/6v/7.4v)
Speed: 0.09/0.07/0.06 sec @ 60 deg. (4.8v/6v/7.4v)
Weight: 2.29oz (65 g)
Bushing Or Bearing: Bearing
Bearing: Dual
Motor Type: Coreless

Think this was the last one made but dont be surprised if it popups on Ebay again. Actually that's the reason why i didn't install it, what to have it duplicated in CF. [link=http://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=21015]Original site [/link]

Sorry about hijacking the thread!
What did you pay for that chasis?
Very few like it! You could sell it like you said!
If you want to keep the aluminum look get the RC Solutions replacement side pans: You will need both left & right!

Personaly I still run the stock shocks. I have three complete sets, you can get them on ebay for very little. I do know the previous MBX5T front Mugen shock will fit it’s just a 1/4” longer but I don’t think that shock is availible any longer. Don’t know if the new adjustable MBX6T shock will fit but I’m very courious! Cost is the biggest consern @ $35 for a set of two!

Glad to see a little action here in the MGT forum [8D]
I may be retiring mine from truck pulling which means it'll get some run time. My brushless MGT is still running strong as well. The driveline/differentials on these trucks have proven to be extremely strong to me. I never had any serious driveline issues on my MGT puller all year. Sucker just ran flawlessly and put it on the Losi's more than a couple times

Fastest, better radio & servos, bla, bla, bla, bla bla!
Savage, Losi, Cen, etc!
Would you give the edge in drive train durability to the MGT ?
