Default Any Thottle Mod for the MMGT?

I just got this truck and swap out the radio and was checking all the links for binding.

I did not run the truck yet to check the actual points on the throttle.

The only problem I have is that the rotary carb is binding or getting stuck just above the idle after I apply full throttle and release it back to idle. When I hit the brakes it does return to the idle spot and the it actives the brakes and when release the throttle arm stays in pace.

Maybe a return spring is should be added to close the throttle.

Any other ideas?

shouldn't the carb have a internal return spring?? do you have a spring on the linkage on the servo end?

when you take off the linkage, can you still feel it binding when opened & closed by hand? the problem could be in the servo!

my slide carb had a similar issue... it had a bit of material that was catching from where the previous owner had obviously attempted some sort repair with primitive caveman era tools.

Stupid me in a rush yesterday to break in the MGt3. I forgot to install the thottle return spring the night before. Had to blip the brake every so offen to put the carb back to idle. That night I installed the return spring andthe carb closed up in a snap.

Can't wait to finish breaking her in. She got lots of pep .
