Default just bought an tt mta4 with an sh 28 in it, should I keep the mill?

both the truck and the engine are new and I've yet to break in the engine. Was just wondering weather to keep the engine, are they a good lump? and would it be well suited to this truck or does it need more hp?

still cant believe the size of this thing[X(]

Awesome engine for that truck.. Which SH is it??

Probably the blue head 3-port - not the best SH, like an LRP Spec 3..

But I've heard lots of good things. Should be good and torquey.. An LRP Spec 3 would be better, especially on top-end.. But I don't know if you'd get much mony for that SH, if it is indeed the 3-port. Costs like 80 Pounds or something in the UK I think..

I say just run it and see what happens.. SH 28's - even the Mach 427 - are great MT engines...

If you've got money to burn though, then by all means get an LRP 30....

FYI - LRP, Nosram, Mach, Dynamite, XTM, and Losi are all SH engines...

Here is my old MGT with the 4.6 associated(thunder tiger) engine on it. I thought it was a pretty strong runner for a stock rtr engine:

The MGT is a nice truck too, you will like it Very easy to work on, cheap to get parts for, and pretty tough!

thanks for the reply, I've had a revo, lst and plenty of wheel time on a savage but I'm totally new to the mgt, the fit and finish seems to be of high quality and it should hold up to some big air jumps with its box chassis and uber plush suspension. I hope anyway[8D] the sh pumps out 2.7hp and revs to 38,000 rpm which is a fraction more than the stock .28 tt mill btw

How does the truck handle? Is it any better than a savvy?

Mine had an upgraded steering servo, and everything else was stock and it handled great. You can see in the videos it just wanted to slide the rear around instead of rolling over. It was the best handling MT i have had by far. If i was racing, I would have kept it for sure. My savage rolls a decent bit easier than it did, I just found the savage was more fun to drive for me. just broken in the sh and it performs really well for a stock mill, has lots of low - med torque and revs pretty hard. You're right about the handling, it doesnt want to tip over at high speed unlike most other MT's. I've yet to try it offroad though. Only downside I can see so far is the poor turning circle, do you have any idea how I can improve this? And do you know how to change the shift point on the gears? it seems to shift a bit early for me

You can go dual tanks. I don't think a bigger tank is availible?
