Is there a secret to putting the header gasket on.
Cause god dang that thing is hard to put on.
Ive already ripped one gasket and dont want to rip my last one.

ANd I meant getting the header on after the gasket is on. I rip it every time.

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

u just make sure its all centred then just slide it on, it it flexes the gasket back, start over, its easy once u get used to it, also dont use the stock gaskets, there really brittle, i use venom ones that work great, and there a REAL tight fit over the exhaust port, also the front is rounded so it dosnt grab on the manifold

Snaut Rocket 01-06-2008 08:49 PM

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

Oh dont use the stock ones.
That info couldnt been useful when i bought a whole set 4 days ago.:)

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

thanks mate its an ongoing thing lol, its slowly getting to how i like it.

If u want the stickers, there made by a company called UPGRADE, i bought the stickers made for 40 series 23mm but got the 14mm ones, (smaller middle hole) so i had to use a scalpel to cut em out, didnt turn out to bad though so im happy, there only about 8 bucks:D

U need dish rims for them though

I just got a sick Monster GT from a guy in town. What are people using to start it, why type of drill like what voltage? The guy gave me the wand for it and it will start if I use my big drill with a cord. when I try using my 9.6v cordless drill it won't turn it over, seems like the drill is underpowered. As soon as I try it with the big power drill it starts. I obviously can't lug around a drill with a cord so what is a good kwik start of size voltage drill that will work? What is everyone else using?

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

i use a cheap 9.6 volt black and decker cordlesss drill and it works fine. your drill must not have enough RPM's to it. always make sure your clutch on the drill is set properly just in case it gets hydro-locked

docphysics 01-07-2008 12:07 PM

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

Yep, I use an old cheap 9.6 Black Decker drill as well, that I power with a 7.2 volt stick pack. Works fine.

I have the spec 3 in my mgt and was thinking of a new exhaust system, can anyone let me know of a good one that I don't have to remove the plastic side. Also I saw some time ago of duel exhaust systems for the mgt but can't remember who made it. this is how I have it set up now and keep blowing out exhaust gaskets and oil is all over[:o].

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

docphysiscs,

Once I got my 9.6v fully charged today it turned the truck over just fine, I am good to go. How do I adjust the brakes on the truck to stop stronger? Mine has the spring on it, should I start by replacing it with fuel line and what do I do to adjust them stronger? When it is sitting and the truck is off it is kind of hard to push, it will roll but takes some pushing if that helps to know, I am still new to this.

I have the .21 engine in mine, anyone know of a good aftermarket exhaust that will produce some more power and looks and sounds good? Anything to for a rear exit exhaust?

docphysics 01-07-2008 03:06 PM

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

yes, replace the spring with fuel line.

Check to make sure your brakes aren't engaging when the truck is at idle throttle position. Adjust the brake linkage if it is. It should roll pretty easily with the throttle at idle position.

rexrw 01-07-2008 03:09 PM

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

To adjust the brakes to I turn the collar on the linkage that is at the end of the spring(which is getting ready to be fule line)? Which way to I turn it to make it brake harder or lighter? It should roll pretty easy at neutral is what you are saying? If it isn't rolling easy at idle should I loosen it?

Thanks

RE: Monster GT anyone have one?

you could use the lst2 pipe.
Just have to cut a little off the pipe to make it fit.
