Wind Correction
Don,
I just watched your new video (great job). In part of the video, you talked about dropping a wing, before a vertical up line, for wind correction. I've always just started adding rudder during the pull. Is dropping a wing a better, if so, why? Another question, how do you add wind correction on an upline, that has a 4 point roll going up? The higher the plane goes, the more I have to fight weathervaning. I've just been making my corrections, after each point, but I'm sure there has to be a smoother way. Thanks |
RE: Wind Correction
Its a side slip. You have the same effect if adding rudder during a radius, but make sure to put rudder in as you appoach the top of an up line to keep the plane from weather vaning.
Think of a 4 point roll on an upline the same way as a horizontal 4 point roll. Instead of gravity you are fighting the cross wind. Best of luck, Don |
