RE: 80" Cap maiden?
Thats exactly the same set up I have in my Cap it has plenty of power but no as much as you might think, a 18 lb plane with 26 lbs of thrust is a pretty good combination I think, the plane dosent like alot of elevator, and if you give it to much at to slow a speed it will snap roll, can be pretty scary to close to the ground!! It will fly great IMAC aerobatics but 3-D isnt so great it dosent like to slow down too much....
Notice the cool lightening work on the metal parts....

RE: 80" Cap maiden?
Not really. That is a great flying Cap, probably the best of all of the Cap designs I did for its size. 17.2 is a little heavy, but it should be pretty good. Not much you could do with the weight with a 3.2 in it. The last one I had had a Moki 2.1 in ut and weighed about 15.5.
At 17.2, just watch for tip stalls. Get comfortable with it before trying more extreme things down low.

Yea your right Mike, I thought it was one of your products but I remember now its a Lanier (sorry about that), its not a bad plane but at 18 lbs (full of fuel and ready to fly) its not a 3D plane just a good aerobatic plane..

RE: 80" Cap maiden?
Mike,
Any plans to reintroduce the H9 80" CAP? I know you said it didn't sell well. I don't know why. I have one. This is my 2nd and would
buy another. Lost the first when my moki 2.10 quit in a hover. Now I use a Cline regulator. It is the best 3D plane in its size and 3Ds just
as well and better in some respects than my 31% AW Edge. If I had the plans I would build one myself. Maybe you could introduce one with
a 2 piece wing and a new color scheme designed around the DA-50. Or since caps don't seem to be as popular right now (but to me they are)
you could design an edge around this size.
Thanks,
Greg
