Default How to seal the control surfaces?

Hello Mike!!!

I'm building a CAmodel Extra 300L 2360mm (31%). It's TOP HINGED.
I've read in some manuals and forums that I should seal the control surface gaps, but I haven't found any info about what is this process exactly.
What I have to do? How I have to do it? What I have to do it with?
Do you have any photos/ draws/ instructions...?

Thank you very much

Its very simple. I use clear (Transparent) Ultracote, and iron in a strip from the bottom. Just be sure the surface id deflected all the way up so the seal doesnt impead the movement.

Hello!!
Just take a piece of covering, fold the covering down the center with the adhesive side to the outside
making a sharp crease at the fold. Use a ruler, measure 1/2 " from the folded crease and mark two places with a pen.
Use a sharp blade and a straight edge and cut through both layers of covering at the 1/2" marked.
Mark and cut to the overall length. This piece will be inserted and ironed down into the hinge bevel.
Place the folded crease side into the center of the hinge line and fully deflect the rudder and ironed the strip down.
Hope this helps You!

Only ONE QUESTION:
I have to seal the entire control surface gap with only one strip? That is to say: I have to seal over the hinges too? or only between each pair of hinges?

THanks a lot

I seal the entire gap. As long as you are stopping any air leakage, it isnt really important how you do it.
