Hi Brent,
Models here are designed internally. I design or am involved with all Hangar 9 models. Some designs we've purchased from the outside such as the Funtana 40 and 90 and the Eflite Tribute Ultimate and Tensor. Testing is done by a staff of product technicians and I also stay quite hands on in taht regard, especially in flight testing.

Well, it's been about 8 years since I posted this thread. I made it through school and am now in my 3rd year in product design, not exactly designing planes but rather general consumer products. I kind of fell off of R/C when I went to college and have since started to find more time to dabble back into my passion in aviation. I hope everyone is doing well, and MMconville how's it hanging at Hangar 9?

I keep trying to get testing/review jobs since I have my own version of Edwards out here in Northern Nevada....This is the BRO Test Site The advantage is take off and landing in any direction and not worrying about making it back to the field if you have problems.
The amazing thing is that it is not dirty as one would expect. The planes get no dirtier here than they do at a paved airfield.
