Hangar 9 ShowTime 4D
Since its also live on our site now, here is the new 90-110 size 3d (4D) model. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...ProdID=HAN2800
Before the SFG's on the wing scare you off, let me first say they attach with one thumb screw per side and it can be converted to a "standard" wing in about 45 seconds.
While they look a little unusual at first glance, I think that once you see it fly, you'll be sold on the SFGs. It is really amazing. It flies very pattern like in precision (w/ or w/o the SFGs) and turns inside out like a big foamie. All at the same CG, so you dont have to choose which way you want to fly it. It'll do both.
It is REALLY fun. This one has a Saito 1.00 in it and has very good power. It weighs in just under 9 lbs with the saito and a 2700mA ni mh rx battery.
Hope you guys like it. I think you will.
It'll be at Toledo so come see it.

RE: Hangar 9 ShowTime 4D
Its set up for pull/pull ans tail mounted rudder servos. Choise which ever is best suited for the engine your using to get the cg correct.
I think the biggest differences of the ST vs the F90 are
1. It can be flown very precisly and go very wild 3D at the same CG.
2. Knife edge ability
3. Rudder authority in hover
4. A few unique pinwheel type maneuvers.

No, the SFGs dont move with the rudder. It isnt necessary to get a big increase in side force. We playee with moving SFG on the original Tensors but ended up tapeing them shut since they didnt do anything.

Mike,
I saw the video of the showtime flying at Toledo, is there any way you could post that video here.
Also how does it fly pattern with the SFG's on? does it roll better axialy with the SFG's on, how do point rolls, slow rolls, rolling circles compare with the SFG's on?
Thanks

Saludos!
The SFG do seem to help everything, even precision. With the SFG on less fuse angle is needed in KE so the slow rolls and point rolls look more axial.

I rally like your 50cc extra 260 but I just dont know how I will scrounge up enough money to build that. I would build it over the Extream flight yak 54 68 incher but the yak is an awsome plane with wuality and flying cheracteristics that really dont look like they can be beat. Why should I get the Show Time over the yak. They are both really cool loiking planes and I just dont know which one to build. lol they both arent fore sale too. Can the show time do a KE LOOP?

Mike, I don't know which one of these threads you are looking at the most so I posted in both. Does the Saito 100 you have in the demo plane have enough power to perform all major 3D manuevers including a Hover? What throttle position does a hover require with this engine (1/2, 1/3?) I purchased a saito 100 and was deciding on my next project. Looks like you took care of that for me.

Depends on the altitude you are at. Here in the modwest at approx 500 feet above sea level it has plenty of power to pull out of a hover. Some of our guys were in Vegas last week to demo it at the NRHSA show and at that altitude (approx 1800 feet) it didnt,

RE: Hangar 9 ShowTime 4D
Lucky for me I am only 46 feet above sea level here in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. I am already sold on the plane and its capabilities, but I just want to be truly overpowered for once. If you had a choice between a brand new Saito 100 or a barely used Magnum 120, which way would you go. Wish I could afford the YS110 that has more torque than both the Saito and Magnum, but budge comes first. In the RC Universe interview you mentioned that the Showtime was able to perform all major aerobatic skills from the same CG including hovering. Do you feel that it is largely due to the SFG's or a combination of airplane design and SFG's. I hate to keep asking a bunch of questions, but I figure you would know best.

I cant say much on the engine comparison. I havent run a Magnum 120.
On the airplane and its capabilities, it is more to to wih th overall design than just the SFGs that makes it great at 3D and precision at the same CG.

I really hope its out before flying season is over in the Northeast! I have been expecting some of the Hanger 9 stuff in our store, and every time I check on the status of them, the release dates are pushed back a few weeks!

RE: Hangar 9 ShowTime 4D
OK MIKE!!!!!!! after looking at this plane the first time i didnt like it. then i said if you took the SFGs off it i might could like it. now after reading on the H9 site that is it an artistc design I think i might love it. my favorite 3d plane is a 3d/artistic design. unfortunatly its an electric and only avalible in that form.. its the Fliton Jumping Jack.. the reason i like it is it will pattern and then 3d just as good as any 3d plane ive flown. If this plane will fly anything like it im sure it will be my favorite. so my question is should i place an order now to ensure that i can get one on this shipment? I have a YS-110 that im sure will be perfect in it..
