Warbird Choices

Wow! I feel like a kid at Christmas time again.
Okay, they have to be giant scale, 80" or bigger, minimum 1.50 size but bigger is better. Scale everything. Solid retracts - including the tailwheel, flaps. Here's my wish list in order:
F6f Hellcat (Pleeeeaaase!)
F4U-4 Corsair
TBM Avenger
SBD Dauntless
Thanks for asking, Mike!

Hurri I or II
Spit V
A6M2 or 3 Zero
BF109 E or F
Ki-61 (or Ki-100--radial cowled version for more engine mounting options)
Ki-43I (another 2-blade fighter)
Also, there seem to be loads of newer guys, like me, that have gotten the r/c bug from the Hangar 9 PTS P-51. Would it make sense to market, say, a Spit or Zero (or other well known type) in the same vein that are upgradeable to sport scale fliers to bring more into warbirds as they advance and gain ability to fly them?
It is the concept of flying a warbird and eventually moving into scale warbirds, in particular, that has attracted me to r/c after putting it of for 30 odd years.

Mike,
It's time for somebody (besides Top Flites P-51) to come out with a series of true 50cc gasoline powered warbirds. I can't understand why they haven't after the success TF has had with the P-51 ARF and their kits. I think there is a huge market out there for the 50cc size warbirds. Now that you guys are carrying the Evolution line it's time.....

I've got several Hangar 9 offerings and I think they're nice models, but I'm also waiting on a big TopFlight Corsair kit. I know Hangar 9 tried the 150 size Mustang which isn't available anymore? But I do think there is a market for gasser size Warbirds.
OH! Flaps for my H9 60 size Corsair would be great too...

The retracts have been fixed. The ones with the priblems are in the older airplanes.

Hi Guys,
As you all know, we have quite a series of Hangar 9 60 size warbirds now. P-51, P-51 Miss America, AT-6, Corsair, P-40, P-47.
If we were to continue to introduce warbirds, what subjects would you like to see?

Mike,
Why not put together a pole for us to vote on several planes you are considering ? Might be a little more fun, you'll get the info you need and you might also avoid other issues.

As a happy owner of other H-9 ARFs (P-51s [2ea.], P-47, T-34, and Corsair) I look forward to more great ARFs. I don't know if you all would consider twins, but I included the A-26 which has been missing from the market for too long. Please keep them as .60 or larger birds as the T-34 has a heavy wing loading in .46 size (added flaps and it lands very sweet).
[ul][*] The Focke-Wulf FW190 is a classy looking bird you don't see every day in ARF form.[*] The Bell P-39 Aircobra (a nice tricycle gear model).[*] The Douglas A-26 Invader is the coolest looking and flying twin (without the P-38's loss of 1 engine leading to a flat spin problems).
[/ul]
By the way a .60 sized Beech Staggerwing could be considered as a warbird since they were used for high speed military transport duty in WW-II. Had to throw that one in after building a Royal kit that was the talk of the field everywhere it went.
Thanks for fixing the landing gears!

I would have to say:
P-39
MiG-3 (pick a Russian WWII bird, most look great)
Both .60 size or larger. P-39 would be nice to put in an electric motor and save the outline on it. Not to mention it would be a good tricycle arangement, like someone mentioned earlier.

I forgot to mention, Mike, that I would like to see the planes come without decals and other markings already applied. That would give us the flexibility to dress them in our own favorite way.
Thanks again!

Hellcat
Would also like the P-61 and He-111.
A 1.50 sized P-47 would be nice...(that was sarcasm, kid)...seriously, how about an ARC bubbletop version?

A Bf- 109 F or early G (with optional 12.7mm breach blisters for a later G ... AND, a scale spinner! )
Ki-61 Tony
MC 202 or 205
P-39
F4F Wildcat (w/ the 1830 )
P-36 perhaps? ( you could use the P-40's wing and most of the fuse., just use a radial cowl )
I'd say a Frank (Ki-84 ) or Lagg 5 or Yak 9 but there probably aren't enough people who'd want one?
I don't want to sound snooty or something, but besides us guys who actually know "warbirds", how many others would want a Frank, or Lagg, etc.???
Gotta think from a marketing perspective?!
The market already has a glut of P-51's and Corsairs, Spitfires, etc.
We need something different, yet still marketable to the masses, right?!
Personally, I would love a nice Ki-61 or Messerschmitt 109F (or E if it had a BIG, scale size spinner )

Cawn't go wrong here old chap !
Look at this brute, the British Thunderbolt ! It's got to be a large scale one though, I bet you would have a hard time balancing a 60 size with a lightweight glow motor. C'mon H9, make Topflight Jealous ! 85-90", built to accept a G-62, what's not to like eh ?
