Hi Guys,
As you all know, we have quite a series of Hangar 9 60 size warbirds now. P-51, P-51 Miss America, AT-6, Corsair, P-40, P-47.
If we were to continue to introduce warbirds, what subjects would you like to see?

Looks like its time to make some "bad guy" planes.
May I suggest the KI-100 or KI-61. http://www.angelfire.com/fm/compass/K61.htm Consider that the KI-100 would have definite points for the fact there aint any others out there. http://airmodeller.tripod.com/48JpKi100.HTM

All of these planes offer various colorful paint schemes.
On the German side is the Heinkel 100 it looks kinda like the KI-61 but with crosses.

P-39 AirCobra with good retracts and flaps. Correct outline would be nice as well. Might have good market for the guys who have not learned to fly a taildragger yet, but want a warbird.

It's time for somebody (besides Top Flites P-51) to come out with a series of true 50cc gasoline powered warbirds. I can't understand why they haven't after the success TF has had with the P-51 ARF and their kits. I think there is a huge market out there for the 50cc size warbirds. Now that you guys are carrying the Evolution line it's time.....

There are a lot of guys out here that race these things, or try to. They have been modified to the point that one offering can be used as a trainer, great for the newbees. Guys from the oposite end stuff YS 110 and various 2 s 90 in them and race. Their speeds unfortunately are limited due to the user friendly wing design. If your going to build these things, how about offering a choice of standatd put-put wing or performance wing that will allow us some of the additional speed everyone seems to be beggilng for? We have the Hanger 9 P- 51 and Miss America versions, both with OS 60s at the field. The Miss America should be somewhat faster, beilng a "Reno Racer". In use, its was a real dissapointment. Thought by now, someone would come up with a good aftermarket wing for these thing, but have not seen any. A few of the more knowledgable guys have cut their own wings and generally have theilr own race well in front of the rest. How about just one of thes birds with a scooter wing? Even one of the early Russian birds.

There is really only one choice, the most beautiful WW2 propeller driven airplane ever designed! It has to be the Spitfire, of course!
However, I'm a WW1 guy and I'd like to see Hanger 9 come out with at least one WW1 design. How about an SE5a, or an Albatros DIII or Pfalz DIII. All of these WW1 fighters have some nose, so balance won't be so hard to achieve.

.60 sized F8F Bearcat - with nice outline, flaps, and airfoiled tail feathers.
.60 sized F6F Hellcat - with nice outline, flaps, and airfoiled tail feathers.
These two Navy planes are easy to cover with UltraCote using a single color. The next .60 sized warbird must have a strong firewall made out of 1/4" aircraft ply and not soft 3/16" ply. Also, flimsy flat tail feathers do not belong on a warbird.
Edit: that's 3/16" thick ply, not 3/8" as originally stated

I agree with all the other guys that a "bad" guy or two is in order, I do like those German planes. An easier fix would be a P-51B, you've already got the essentials !

Seems to me WW2 warbirds have a population explosion. while WW1 are few and far between. Seems to be a large void, even larger now that GP axed their DR1 arf. How about a triplane or Albatross? I think the engineering needed to make working landing gear could be better applied toward makeing a well behaved fabric covered work of art! Papadave

What I would really like to see is the arfs availlable as ARCs ( almost ready to cover ) That way one can add their own type of covering and make their own schemes and do any modifications to add more detail or make the plane "safe to fly" as in the case with the Corsair. (Not that I'm putting the plane down, I bought it myself knowing well of the potential problems associated with it.) But I'll end up removing all the covering to correctly do the mods on a plane that other wise came with a nice covering job.

60 size: Dauntlass or Helldiver, why does it always have to be a fighter ?
In the 1.50 size or better yet 90", without doubt a Hawker Typhoon, you can put a good size gas engine in and hide it, wide landing gear for easy handling, big wing area, straight forward design, and yet to be done as an ARF of any quality. This is one fighter I think you would find very popular all over the world.

For a "new" warbird, the Dauntlass would be very nice if made with working retracts, flaps, dive breaks and bomb drop. [sm=thumbup.gif]
And a FW 190 'A' (the short nose) would also be nice with working retracts and flaps. [sm=thumbup.gif]
However the long nose FW 190 has been done, and done, and done, and done, etc.,etc., .....[sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif][sm=thumbdown.gif]
Zeros are good fliers too, so that's another good candidate for you.
Although, personally, I like to stay with our planes, the USA birds. Just my preference.[sm=tongue.gif] (so I would probably vote for the Dauntless out of the above selection)
One thing I REALLY, REALLY wish Hanger 9 would do is Fix the problems with the Corsair .60 w/retracts that have been uncovered and discussed in several threads here at RCU. Also would like to see working flaps added to that Corsair. I know, I know, legally Hanger 9 would say "What Problems? I don't see any problems" and wink to themselves. But if you read those threads, you know what I mean and am talking about. It could be a marketed as "The New, Improved F4U Corsair - - NOW with working Flaps" [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=biggrin.gif]
