Default Hangar 9 Extra 260 27% Servos

Dear Mr. McConville

I'm mounting a Extra 260 27% and I'm in doubt about the servos

well...I'm using a DA50cc and the servos recommended by the manual are de DS8231 (JR) on aileron and elevator surfaces.

the question is: is it ok using nylon geared servos on these surfaces at the same time i'm using a gas engine ?

ps: sorry about my english ...i'm from brazil and my english skills aren't very good

Thanks

If you set up a lot of aileron throw (3D like) you might want to use metal geared servos. I preferred the JR 9411 in the 27% 260.

I would use something like the Hitec HS-5645mg. Since the airplane is slightly lighter than similar sized airplanes using a 162 inch ounces of torque on the elevator and aileron is ok. On the rudder i would use something like 180 inch ounces. This way, it is almost impossible for it to flutter. the recommended servos is what you should use on a 60 3D airplane's rudder

IMO 86 Inch OUnces of torque is not enough, even if you are just flying around.
