Just received a new airplane my wife bought me for Christmas. The on line picture was clearly built up construction but the plane they sent is fiberglass. The instruction sheet says the flying weight is 10lbs. and the tripplebeam confirms that. I have an os 120 ax, is that enough power for 3d? The plane I have now is a scratch built yak-55 that weighs almost 8.5 lbs. the vertical on that is good but I'm not sure about 10lbs.

Its hard to answer without seeing the model and having some experience with the OS engine, which I dont. My giess it it will be OK btu not have a ton of power for 3D. Just a semi-educated guess though.

O.S. 120 AX, GREAT ENGINE!!!! I have one in my Funtana 100X and it performs very well, i can hover the plane just above my head and it will pull out well.Although the plane doesn't pull out of a hover as well as my H9 33% Edge 540 that has a DA-85 it's still pretty good.
I think that my Funtana came out at 8lbs ( if i remember correctly ). So i'd say in a plane wieghing 10lbs it will perform good but 3D performance will be limited.
What plane is it that you are planning on building the engine into?
