fuel cell

mike, can you or any one that reads this tell my why some of the pros use bottle type fuel cells? where can i get one? i can see why i would like it or at least i think i can see a benefit from from it being round rather than square. just wondering because i have never seen one for sale anywhere or read anything about them.

I'm not sure what you mean? I use Dubro tanks or our own Hangar 9 tanks.

The two planes I have seen use 1 liter soda bottles.
I could not beleive it but that is what they used.
Two 20 oz bottles would work as well.

I see some guys doing it and from what I can tell it's for weight savings. It's only an ounce or two but it all adds up. A Dubro 50oz. tank weighs around 6.5 ounces plumbed, a soda bottle or kevlar tank can save about 2 ounces.

Had to use the coke bottle with YS engines because of the pressure in the tank. Up to 12psi. Dubro would split after a time. Other then that, any regular tank is fine. Dennis
