What glow plugs for OS50 in Raptor 50 V2?
Hi folks,
I have been using Enya #3 plugs in my OS 50 in a Raptor 50 V2 and it runs flawlessly. Only problem is these plugs are not very easy to obtain because I have to mail order them, and they're pretty expensive around $8. I get about a gallon to a plug. Has anyone had success with other plugs? I tried one other plug, and got a flameout on the first flight. My Raptor flys great and I couldn't be happier with it doing about intermediate 3d like flips and tic-tocs.

Only one gallon on a plug is not good.
What happens to your plug??
If the coil is broken, melted or gone when you take it out, you're either way to lean or using too much nitro for your CR or both.
An Enya 3, OS 8 or A3 should last several gallons and should never melt.

Maybe I'm getting more than a gallon per plug, but what I see is a deposit form on the element, or the element is broken. I thought the deposit was from running too rich so I went leaner. I was running too lean and killed two plugs in four flights at one point, now I'm running a bit richer with lots of smoke and great power. I'm using 15% nitro. The TT polished aluminum muffler is used on the engine.

Not concerned about glow plugs now.
Well glow plugs have become less of a concern for me. On Sunday afternoon my GY401 failed and the Raptor 50 was wrecked upon "landing". I noticed it wasn't holding heading after one turn so I brought it in for a landing and it gradually required more and more right stick to hold it straight, then just as I got it to a 1' hover it started doing piro's to the left fast, and I set it down level but it still blew up. The replacement parts cost $175 not including the gyro which I hope will be replaced under warranty.
