Default 30 v2 Question

Hi !

I just bought a raptor 30 v2 and have a couple of questions. First i currently fly a t-rex with a
futaba gy240 gyro , will this gyro work well with the raptor. Second I like the looks of carbon blades
and all metal head . Is the 30 v2 something that is worth that kind of upgrade or should i save
that for a 50 or 60 later.

Any reply is appriciated.

The GY240 will work on the Raptor though most perfer the Futaba GY401 with the 9254 servo. If you don't plan on crashing alot, aka comfortable with hovering, forward flight go with carbons. As for the metal head I am personally waiting until I get my Raptor 50 Titan.

Hope this helps a little
Merry Christmas

The 240 will work OK but its got some limitations. As HM said, the 401/9254 is a prefered solution and can be had for 185 bucks or so if you look around, I know Heliproz and Ricks but sell it for around that price (you have to call or email them for the true selling price)

B'cuda is right on about the gyro.
As for a metal head or any metal parts for that matter. I've seen many Raptor 30V2 get the blades flown off them with all the standard plastic parts, inverted, looped, rolled, ticked, tocked, funneled and thrown in the ground and be rebuilt and flying again in an hour. The plastic stuff is very durable. I would recommend a set of carbon blades both for the main and tail, this gives a better feel and crisper response. If you want it more responsive, put a set of red dampers in the head and the ultra light (green) paddles on it. It will do quite a bit with just these parts put on it.
Spend your money on fuel and crash kits. I've seen the 30V2 as one of the best learning tools for nitro helis, cheap, easy to fix, and a blast to fly.

I did the stinger conversion, I bought it here
