In the 3D world we call that woof and poof. Woof is the sound it makes (you probably know what I'm talking about) and poof is when the out of track blade hits the boom and the helicopter explodes in mid air. Not a pretty sight unless it's someone elses heli and it would be heart breaking with that nice fuselage.

hey guys, have been flying my raptor for 8 months now... so fun!
Just read lots of the info in the forum..... took about a thousand notes. Forever learning with these things.

One question i do have is general maintenance.
What is needed as maintenance, all i can think of is:
-check for loose links
-fuel filter clean
-carby clean
-lubricant

Thats all i can think of off the top of my head

what sort of throttle curves is everyone using. My 3d curve is 100,exp,70,exp,100...... What sort of curve should i have for a minor 3d mode?

I just bought the dx7 and i only used 2 throttle curves on theold dx6i

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this thread and would like a little help
I have been flying electric heli's for some time and have only recently been flying my raptor for a couple months now. I do battle a little with setting pitch and throttle curves but end up getting by okay.
I have set my heli for 5.5 degree pitch at half stick, -4 at low stick and around 11 or so at high stick. Where should the throttle be at half stick? There are markings on the OS SX-H motor and when I'm at half the marking on the carb shows i'm only just above quarter throttle?
I have a hand held tachometer but am too nervous to use it

Please guys any help here would be ++++++++

There's 3 tick marks on the carb barrel, the middle one is half throttle. Start there though the hyper puts out a lot of power so you may have it throttle curved down to 35 percent at hover.

any response on throttle curves?
i am tossing up between a thunder tiger zero headspeed governor and the curtis youngblood governor.... which one?
(i have never used a governor before so one might be easier than the other)

Thanks for the response BarracudaHockey. Okay I've just put on some JR carbon blades and went through the entire head setup, and throttle setup. My throttle is sitting at the center tick when mid stick, you say that this is too high for hover and I should bring it down to 35%...... How should I do this? Do I bring it down using the throttle rocker switch which adjusts the entire throttle curve? [:-]

My current head setup is as follows in normal mode:

Neutral stick (down) i have + - -4 degrees
Mid Stick i have + - 5.5 degrees
High Stick (max) + - 11 degrees

Your advice on this setup for doing scale flight patterns?

Yep, just change your throttle curve to suit. That pitch range looks fine for scale style flying.
