Default toki 40 any good in a 30?

I bought a kit the other day and my local hobby store ran out of os motors and the owner said he had a differant one that would work and its a toki 40,It didnt "fit right in"I had to hack some plastic off the main frame off because the heat sink was to big for this model.Im hoping it has alot of power and still cools good even though its a tight fit.I can post pics if anyone wants to see it I have never herd of them

The toki 40 is sold by Century and is also offered in the Hawk combo at www.heli-world.com . The word from users over on RR seems to be a 50/50 split, the ones that run make good power, some say more than the OS 37, yet others cant keep the carbs on and other air leaks and material defects cause many to toss them in the trash bin. I've never used one and I only buy OS myself and so far, havent had any problems. Just a sugestion, see if you can return the engine before you run it and wait on the OS. In my view, the slight difference in price is not worth the headaches off brand china stuff brings.

Even if you get one that runs ok they will wear out well before an OS.

Could you post pictures of the Toki engine in Rapter 30?
I am looking at fitting a Toki engine but was unsure if or how it would fit and if modifications are needed

You have to file a bit the hole on the frame just a wee bit see last pic u can see i made the hole longer. But fall into place easily. That all I had to do. Have you got the toki yet? If not Mecoa sell them. They bought Toki brand and their manufacturing tools. Anyway's wow it been few years I haven't log in. Here a tip. Don't touch the needle. Or it will be pain of a butt to tune. It ran fantastic i didn't touch the needle. But I did touch the needle after break in and hell broke loose. I forgot what I did to that engine. This was like 10 years ago. Recently I bought toki 40 because it is so much more powerful then os 37. Another thing is engine is still very good quality beside the carb issue. They are made in i think Japan or S Korea I cant remember until Mecoa bought them out.

Cool. Be careful. DO NOT RESET THE CARB. Is carb set or has been adjusted? Anyway's factory set is best not to move. Once you move
you never going to get it tune right. It's going to be a pain of a butt. Me and my club member been flying Century Hawk and raptor since early 2000's.
Everyone I know more then 6 people who own a lot of Toki People hated Toki. I love them but Only good is
their powerhouse. But once touch carb. Run like crap. You can have 10 pros trying to help you none of them is able to tune it. It's a defectiveness due to
carb. Os carb on this would be the best thing to do. Which one you got the red one the grey or silver can you take pic?
