Engine failure

First and formal I would like to say hi to everybody since this is my first post in this forum. My name is Vince, I've not flew in 2 years. My raptor 30 has just been sitting ther for more than 2 years, even then I was only good at some fff and starting on my nose-in. The engine is a TT 36 pro
Anyway, after sitting there for two years. I've decided to get back into it, so I brought it out today and hovered for half a tank when the engine decided to die. The engine was running fine before it dies, there was good amount of smoke indicating it was running a bit rich. The engine did not cut off competely, I felt a great loss of power when I was about 6 fts of the ground. I set it down immediately without any incidents. I've checked the plugs, fuel line, and everything seems to be in order. I've attempted to restart it but it would not turn over, I've also notice it's not pulling any gas in. So my main question is why is it not pulling any gas in? Thanks

Vince

I"m new to the heli world so I can't say for sure but i have ran nitro cars and trucks for 8 years. And you might check and see if any of the fuel lines are cracked or have pin hole's in them. It might be sucking air. And I'm sure you put new fuel it :) Right...

That's usually a pretty go sign of running to lean (getting to hot), you can't go by the amount of smoke coming out, some fuels smoke more then others.

Something could be plugged, your going to have to check everything right from the fuel line in the tank to the needle valves. Did you try holding your finger of the end of the muffler when turning the motor over just to see if it sucks fuel, it works like a choke, just don't hold it there to long, you will flood the motor?

The best thing for you to do in my opinion is, through that 36 on the bench and get yourself the OS 37, you will be a lot farther ahead. Those TT 36's weren't much of a motor anyway, they had good power when you had one that worked right, but having one that worked right were far and few between. I have one that I use for a paper weight and it only has about 3 gallons of fuel through it (I never could get it working right).

Replace the glow plug and all the fuel lines including the clunk lines in the tank and header tank if you have one.

Thanks everybody for thier reply. The engine did not graduately die which would be an indication of being too lean. It did not cut off completely either, turns out the plug was working it way out so the engine started to lose its compression. Anyway, I couldn't sleep with this thing in my head so I stayed up til 3am taking this thing apart. I just took apart the carb and and clean up everything b/c there seems to be something wrong with it. Slap everything back on and she started right up. I would go with an OS but I'll hang onto this for now.

id say the fuel lines, especially the clunk lines..

raptor ones have a habit of disintergrating apparently
