Anyone here have much experience with settning up a DX7 control throws to beginners mode. I can get it to set up in the N flight mode so that it fits withing thunder tigers recomeneded constraints but cant for the love of god get the pitch settings in idle 1 and idle 2 to match those set up in N flight mode.
also how do you set up the Futaba gy401 gyro with the dx7 system. Tried to follow the heli guide but it will not recognised heading hold when i turn on the power. Please Help With Regards Mac |

cant for the love of god get the pitch settings in idle 1 and idle 2 to match those set up in N flight mode It won't be "Beginners Set-up", but if you can manage having negative pitch at all times, it shouldn't be hard for you to deal with. If you'd rather have -2 degrees of neg while in normal(for beginner set-up), just adjust your pitch curve so that it doesn't go as low in normal mode. Your actualy servo travel should be set up in your "Travel Adjust" so that it's around 100 - 100. If you linkages are set up properly, that's where it should be. Also note - that the built in pitch gauge marks are not going to get you where you want to be - My machine is set up so that at mid stick, My pitch is neutral, and the rest falls into place giving me about +11 -11 for pitch. Hope that's not confusing. |

Why would you want normal to match 1 and 2 position...Whenyou turn on the dx-7 all the positions are the same until you adjust them to preferance...If you want to reset everything from scratch its in the book...Remember to adjust every setting to the position of the switch not the lcd selection screen...Mechanical set-up of course first...Everything at 90 with sticks centered and the radio set at default and if you swash is wrong it will totally confuse you so make sure the swash is correct IE: 90-180-ccpm or standard one servo otherwords for collective...Sounds like to me that your mechanicals need attention if you can match 10+ down to 10- collective...And don't worry about the numbers worry about everything at 90 to start with then a good pitch gauge will do the rest for you...Just set-up the low end (stick at bottom for -4 and the top end +10 for normal and -10 to +10 for flight mode one or idle up 1 and of course your throttle then make the middle number linear....As for the 401 and the DX-7 make sure the heli starts up in heading hold mode...Try setting it up in Rate mode first below 50 percent then after a few seconds switch it to heading hold and then the light should come on it will be off during rate mode or normal flight...I don't fly at all in rate mode but some people like the weathervain effect...Good luck... Oh one more thing make sure the Gyro is set up on the proper channel if its the 7000 RX most people us aux 2...
