Default CARF Eurosport green cockpit light

Hello
I am trying to simulate the green light in the cockpit of the Eurofighter (for a CARF Eurosport) - does anyone have any ideas how to get a realistic effect for this?
Many thanks
Gerhard

You could use a green LED and a battery with a switch, or just power it off the receiver.

Thanks for your response - I was also thinking along those lines, but has someone actually managed to achieve a really realistic effect on this - which LEDs to use, also has anyone tried to reflect the LEDs into a perspex/acrylic disc etc?
Many thanks
Gerhard

That much, I'm not sure of... The LED lights are as far as I have gone. Sorry.

Have a look here at my attempt to somewhat scale out the Eurosport cockpit. The green effect in the HUD was done with a patch fabric located in the crafts department of the local Wal-Mart.

As for actual illumination of the HUD using LED's, you will find this thread useful.

There is also threads that show how to make MFD's that use micro LCD's that cycle through different screen shots. You could also make a true HUD using a piece of glass and one of these screens.
