Personally i would never had a container of fuel (any type!) in an enclosed box with a battery!

Just not a good combination no matter what...

Any sort of metal ends up in the wrong side and across those terminals? Not to mention what were to happen if the box were rolled over for any reason, acid all over...

Don't want to be critical, the idea looks neat and tidy but you are asking for trouble with the fuel can inside another box that houses your battery and some electronics, It could lead to a serious accident.

That box is LONG gone, I only got it for the panel and pump. They now reside in a real flight box with supports to hold the plane. BTW that was 2 years ago! LOL Holy old thread resurrection!

I went to a scale fly-in and arrived late. Had to park a long way from the start up box so, for the next time I made this. Used a set of motors off of an old Power wheels and a brushed Esc. Made up my own steering system and put a retractable dog-leash from the dollar tree on the back to tow my planes. It has two 5000 Mah 3s lipos for power that run the power panel and the wheels and radio. Gets more comments and looks than my planes and it works great. Has no problem towing a 12 ft Tele-master!

Are they headlights?

Years ago, my mate designed this Landrover. Radio-controlled, it carried all the gear and towed the plane. Looked great... but, I personally could not be bothered with all that hassle.

You couldn't lift it, so it had to drive up some ramps into the back of his estate car.

He would sit his grandson on the top and drive him around the flying field, by remote control.

Yea they are headlights. Made them out of a couple of those clip on hat lights, also from the dollar store. They are mounted to the steering servos so they turn with the wheels. Took the batteries out and ran them off the receiver. Guys at my club say I have way to much time on my hands! I can carry this one but I need to get some smaller rear wheels. They hit the back of my leg. Hey Bogbeagle, you ever been to Alconbury or Lakenheath? I spent 4 years in both! Sure do miss the U.K.

I don't know Alconbury or Lakenheath.

I'm near to York. But, I did once cycle to Mildenhall ... fifteen years ago. Or was it 20? Anyway, it was a long ride.

Presumably, you were/are a serviceman?

Mildenhall was close to both. F-111s out of Lakenheath and F-4, F-5 and the TR-1 out of Alconbury. My Dad was Air-Force. I was Army. My last memories of the U.K. were Alconbury. We lived off-base at Peterbourough.

Since I started flying EP and Gas in addition to glow,, the one box fits all stopped making sense, too big too heavy,
I have a fishing tackle box that holds tool, spare parts, screws etc, and a gun case for my TX, Charger and flight packs for the day,
Then depending if I'm flying gas or glow I just grab that bottle,, It all takes up a pretty small foot print and eis easy to transport up and down to the basement with the fuel staying in the garage,,

Started using the Tackle box for tool when I was racing cars/Trucks, a good complete too set is a must.

Scale, you're just like me. I gave up the double level rolling "do anything anywhere" boat anchor for two smaller ones, 3 if you count the gas can for my gassers. One for glow and gas (a field box with a few drawers for tools), a tackle box for my electrics, and the trusty red plastic gas can. For a while I tried the roller, but found out quickly whatever you put in it, what you really need is at home on the bench. If I can't fix it, I don't fly it, so I usually take 3 planes to the field and fly what can. I have a workshop at home for a reason.

Since my JR 12x has such a huge case, I carry my EP stuff in that with the radio, and the Lipos in a Lipo bag. Takes up a small area and the radio is the one for the one EP I have that I dont fly at home, the Twin Otter. My other EP are on my DX8 and those I dont need to leave home to fly. I have one flight box for gas and glow, the gas is in a separate bottle, so all I really need is the bottle and battery/panel holder for gas. I have a large tool box that holds all my tools and another that holds all my parts since I also build where I fly, just made good sense. Seems like a lot, but only the flight box gets taken out when I fly. If I want to fly EP then all I need is my JR case and Lipo bag, and that fits in the trunk of my car with the tool box of tools and tool box of parts.

I would like to have just one box for the tools and parts though, considering one of those wheeled boxes, as long as there is enough drawer space for the knife set and long enough for my sanding bar.

I have two of these, but found one for gas and one for glow were not needed and gave one to my friend.

I've got a Sig Field Boss. It's heavy, 14 lbs. empty if I remember correctly. I got four wheels from Harbor Freight, which made it even heavier, but now it's a lot nicer to drag across the field fully loaded.

Hi thunderbolt47
Do you have a fuse in the circuit in case of a problem? I use a fuse on the positive side of the battery.

The inverter has one, but the compresser doesn't. For some reason it never got one.
