I just recieved my kit a couple weeks ago but haven't had a chance to start it yet. The kit quality looks
excellent however and I am looking forward to starting it. My plans are right now to use a 60 size engine
but I may go with a larger 4st like a Saito 80 or so . I think it is a good deal on a nice kit and you
don't see them every day either.
Good luck

I just completed a PhaetonII and haven't flown it yet. It is a nice kit to build and I have a Saito 80 for power. I first had planned on installing a Magnum 52 four stroke, which I believe would be adequate power, but the airplane came out a little tail heavy and the cg is right on with the Saito 80. I painted mine silver with a yellow upper wing and trimmed it in 1930"s Navy scheme. I also made a old time looking cowl instead of the one supplied. I'm real pleased with the results and am anxous to fly it.

I have had a Phaeton 90 for almost 10 yrs. and it is the most fogiving plane I have ever had. It flies at a constant speed and it will land it's self if you let it. I have an OS 120 four stroke in it and it seems to be a perfect match for this plane. I am presently recovering it as it was getting pretty gross looking after all these years!
The only problem I had in building it was after the first flight I raised the trailing edge of the upper wing approx. 1/4" . Since then I haven't changed a thing. Balsa USA has a great kit with this one.
