Unless someone else has figured this out.....I found an easy way to get the scratched out of monokote and coverings like the Coverite painted fabric !

Just like you polish a car, MEGUIRES DEEP CRYSTAL SYSTEM #2 POLISH, takes all scratches and smudes out of any covering material......rub on with soft cloth , polish, `clean with soft cloth .../..unreal ! GLOSS like you could'nt believe !!!!!!

You can get it at your local auto parts store. Just call first and ask if theyy carry Meguiar's wax products.

Can any wax do or do you have to get this specific polish?

Waxes and polisher are different. A Polish has micro abrasives that actually do the polishing and cleaning of the surface. Wax is more of a protectant ...and theoretically you could put a coat of wax on your plane after you polish it. That would probably turn out pretty sharp.

Default Polish

I have also had good luck with their swirl remover. It worked wonders on a scratched 4 star canopy.

Is this correct?

Default Meguires

I wonder if their #2 product and the swirl remover are the same thing. I also used the swirl remover on Moneykote and it did do a nice job cleaning it up. All of the Meguires products are great, the only thing I use on my car.

Yes their products can not be beat and I know because I have tried the rest. I only use theirs. Also once you have the plane nice and polished and waxed you can keep it up real easy with their quick wax and quick detailer.real easy to use. They also have a neat product for clear canopies too.

Default canopy polish?

What was that canopy polish? I have an acrylic or plexi - or ?? canopy from a 4m sailplane that was subject to some overspray when the previous owner had it. Looks like it should come off, but I want the right thing to make it shine again.

Thanks

FYI, for swirl remover for finishing a lacquer job on cars, we used to use corn starch.
