I just bought a Royal Cessna Citation, I am going to paint it with coverite paint. I need to know how many cans I will need? It has a 67 in wingspan. I am doing the entire plane white to start. If anyone has ideas let me know!! Thanks

I just finished painting a Royal Pitts, and ended up using way more paint than I expected. Most of the paint ended up on the tarps, but enough stuck to the Pitts to really weigh it down. I must've added 3-4 pounds to the plane. I went through four cans of red, two white, and two black. The plane looks great, but I'm not sure it'll fly anymore.
I'd go with three cans of white, and put it on just as thin as you can.

This may come late, but I'd consider an airbrush or even a car detail gun if you have the compressor. You should not end up with three pounds of paint on a five foot span airplane. Cans are the hardest to use efficiently and the most prone to over-spraying. I just finished a topflite giant P-51 and only added a pound and a half and I did multiple primer coats and a color coat and two clear coats with high end car lacquer.
seven cans of primer, most sanded off, but a husky gun to get the color on like a pro without overdoing it.
