Hi guys

Your right George... It sure is! Except when your driving in the car for hours trying to get somewhere.... GRIN!!

Andrew,

Your right, Guelph is about 30 min from Acton. I do much the same thing you do... Woodworking for a living. The beauty of the CNC, is that I can do other things while the machine is running on its own.

George is correct. I have a CNC multi head CNT router. I too use CAD software and a digitizer to create my drawings, and then toolpath software to create the tool paths for each prop size. It has been a real learning experince for me! I had never used CNC previously. But once you understand how things work, its great!

I should add too, that all of this wonderful technology does come at a price... A BIG one!.... $$$$$$$$$$

Mike,
Yes, I did CNC in school (Conestoga College 3 year woodworking program) but I have not a need for it in my shop - or the $$ for it!

Make sure you go check out RC Canada and show the guys your props.

I thought your name was familiar, I see now you are on MAAC committee.

Interesting stuff and very timely. I just bought a 3W 157 without thinking what the props were going to cost. I will have to consider building one of these.
By the way, The linear bearings and shafting are available over the internet at (ww.mcmastercarr.com ). They have sold to me on small quantities with no problem and ship promptly.

It may not be a record but it's a darn good average. LOL
