This one is pretty fancy. It is at Flaming Geyser State Park in Washington State.
I had the pleasure of flying there this summer with the fellas.

You have to clip your membership card next to the freq. you are using.

These numbers were printed on a laser printer, taped together and laminated at an office supply store that offers that service. They are attached to the 1/4" masonite panels with thumbtacks. Total cost for both sides of the board- $8. Members have clothespins with their names on them which are clipped to the bottom edge of the board. The frequency board is located in the center of the pits and having the numbers on both sides makes it usable from either side of the flightline. So far the laminated numbers have held up surprisingly well through one season of Upstate New York weather.

Don't have a picture -yet, but my club has clips that are positioned over the numbers, and when you want to fly, you put your AMA card on your frequency number. If your number is covered, someone else is using it. It's a good size frequency board, easy to see and read.

I visit a lot and this is the type of board I like the best. The board and clip has the number so you can see who has the frequency by there ama card over the number and you can look for the clip with that number to find the person. WOrks great.

Hello
here is our freq board ,the red clips were for the fly in that weekend since we had alot of pilots from out of town! when theres not a controled event members hang thier membership cards on the hooks witch covers that freq # it works quite well. all you need are 2- 4x4 wolminized posts
1 -4ft X 4ft sheet of metal UV resistant vinal letters/numbers 15 years later it still looks great! it was very simple to build.
you can also see our impound rack but its not that old.

We were getting tired of people running off with the pin, and then having to make a new one only after asking around to see if anyone had the pin. Then, having the original show up a few weeks later. So, we did away with pins all together. As several I've seen here, we now have a slotted board that we just slip our AMA card into.

There are quite a few clubs like that. Until someone comes around using ham bands, it isn't an issue and a lot of the flyers aren't even aware of those frequencies.

I'm really surprised that in 21 years you never came across one that only had 72Mhz. I seem to encounter them often.
I personally wish all clubs would have pins for 27, 50, 53 and 72 Mhz.

The picture I posted was from a club that I visted in October.
I cannot recall if the frequency boards at my local flying fields have the other frequencies or not.
I know the rule board that is up at one of the fields talks about them.

Hey John,
How do you like the pins I sent you?
Tom,
I love them.
One of my friends is in Montreal and will not be back until xmas so he will have to wait until then to get his.
You did an excellent job on these things.
Our club meeting is this Friday night so I plan on showing it to one of the club memebers that is looking at
pins for the club.
I was suprised in getting them so soon, the check is on the way and you should get it in a couple of days.
It was mailed out yesterday morning, sorry I did not get it to you sooner but the weekend was very busy.
Thanks agian and you do make a great product.

Thanks John. I’m glad you are pleased with them. I need to get it in gear and put that graphic up on my site. Thanks for your idea about removing the year. That makes it look much better.

I would love to do a set of pins for your club. Please point him to my site and be sure to point out that the top part is completely customizable. We can use your club logo over a picture of your field or whatever you prefer.

Happy landings,
Tom

Don't have a pic but we have a metal strip at the bottom of the TX impound rack where you clip your field pass on the frequency.
