Try wearing Latex gloves while building and when you are covering a plane. No stuck together fingers and you can not believe how you can control how you handle your project. Then see how easy it is to stretch your covering when you are trying to hold ont to that stuff
Never to old to learn

I better try it! Just peeled my finger from the wingtip of my piper cub. lost quite a bit of hide. Was just about to come up from basement with the wing stuck to my hand for some help. barely got it off!

Using latex gloves is also recomended when gluing with CA or epoxy, since its kinda dangerus to your health if you get the glue on your skin.

It was strickly an accident. My fingers are so raw from CA that I needed some thing to protect my thumbs because I was covering a plane and you can not believe how much it helps griping covering and holding on to a slick plane, and also protects your hand from fuel and cleaners.

Just be certain you do not have a latex allergy.

I use acetone at the end of the building session to remove the CA from my hands, then IMMEDIATELY after, thoroughly wash my hands. This removes the CA and minimizes my exposure to the acetone.

Would also suggest applying a good coat of your wifes hand skin cream, rub it in good good. the Ca will peel off pretty good. will try the the glove solution also. dick

Try "nitrile" gloves instead of latex. No allergic reactions to worry about. Plus, they do not swell up like latex does when expopsed to solvents.

But not too much. You may end up getting some "rub off" on the balsa so that it will not stick EVER again. I like the glove idea. I would have thought that you would lose too much sensation wearing gloves. BUT you don't lose that much when wearing a "raincoat" either, do you

Campy,

By the time the CA has dried, the damage is done! Better not to get it on your hands at all!

If your local drug store or medical supply does not have nitrile gloves they should be able to order them. I know nothing about the business I linked to. It was just the first of several internet sources from a Google search.
