Default cheap field stand

every one is familare with the PVC stand that sits on top of your table, makes a great building stand a couple of 90 degree bends a large V to cradle the plane. but at the field it takes up a lot of room on a portable table and is un safe for a larger running plane to make any adjustments .. so get two 18inch c clamps or wood clamps 10.95 each that wiil be the square type available at any building center. 10 ft of 1 inch thick wall pvc 3.95 four 90 degree elbos .59c each two T s .60 each, cut two 18 inch up rights slip over the square stock on the clamp add the Ts cut four short lenghts to fit the size of your planes add the 90 degree and add the short up rights to keep the plane in place you should add the safty foam to protect your plane .. will fit any table and keep your table free and clear for your flight gear. for less than $30.00. for extra safty I did notch the table to let the flat stock lock into the table sides

I've still got a couple of photos of my original trainer sitting on one of those Tri-Valley tables.

One hopes you guys have built some newer ones !!

I use a cheap/light PVC stand too, but it's just for assembly of the planes and
cleaning them. For run-up I use stakes pounded into the ground, and the rubber
pad to keep debris from getting into the carb. It's easy on the knees too.

this type of mount is to keep you from getting down or bending over your plane , for safety reasons. most portable tables that are a common use at flight sites that we use and have some sort of plane stand that takes up a large percentage of the table, the C clamps attach to the side of your table and gives you the height that you need and also keeps the table free for your flight gear. can slso be used on truck tail gates.

to flyboy dave , it looks like you have no problem working with PVC, if you take your cradel that holds the plane add a T directly in the middle and attach to the C clamp you can attach it to a portable table and have a sturdy work place and a run up location ,im trying to get you out of the dirt

re post ah . sorry but they are bar clamps that we use .18 inch. if you notch the table at the clamp location it makes a perfect fit and does not let the clamp move .

If anyone has access to a woodshop I can get you some plans of the folding tables that I make out of plywood and lumber. They fold flat, when up they have a 24x16 top. Two adjustable fuse stations fit into the top and onto the legs for storage. I made 5 of them today for a swap meet this weekend.

I sent you a PM, if you do not recieve it let me know. I do sell these for 75.00 but I have never shipped one to anyone. Even with shipping it might be a good deal though, as alot of these type of tables are going for 120.00 unassembled or so.
